John Wrau, lately parson of the church of Ringsfield, chief leader and congregator of a certain army of men, namely of five hundred by estimation in various areas, on Tuesday 18th June 1381 with the same John [Wraw] came Peter Bray and Robert Clerk of Hinderclay in the same army, and thus together proceeded to the castle of Mettingham and entered there, and came upon goods and chattels, namely gold and silver to the sum of £40, and plundered, stole and took away other goods and chattels such as jewels and armour, worth £40.
