3823Attack on John Sewale's house at Coggeshall by Thomas SaycokThomas Saycok of Boreham was attached to respond to John Sewale of Coggeshall along with John Rouleye of Great Easton, John Warde of Great Waltham, John Leverych of Fairstead junior, Adam Tournour of Great Waltham, Thomas Spereman of Maldon, John Stalworth, barber, William Saresson of Chelmsford, Thomas Gylle of Maldon, shipman and John Walssh of Bradwell on a plea that with force and arms he broke the houses of the same John and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £40, and other injuries and damages, against the peace. And the same John Sewale by Edmund Heryng his attorney complained that the aforesaid Thomas Saycok along with John Rouleye and others on Monday 10th June 1381 came with force and arms, namely swords, sticks and axes and broke the close and houses of the same John Sewale at Coggeshall, and took and carried away goods and chattels, namely woollen and linen cloths, silver pieces, maple bowls and brass pots, to the damage of 100 marks.
