Short DescriptionJohn Marchale and others steal from John de Methewode at the Abbey of West Dereham
Details[The jurors] also say that John Marchale of Mildenhall, John Pykerel of the same, John Pepyr of Littleport, John de Bytham, John Cros of the same, Robert Cartere servant of Nicholas de Massyngham, John Mace of Hilgay, John de Denvere, William Benet of Hilgay, and William Vye of Bexwell, with force and arms on Thursday 20th June 1381 entered the Abbey of West Dereham and broke into the chamber of John de Methewode, and carried away goods and chattels they found there belonging to the same John, namely money and other goods and chattels worth £100, against the peace. And they say that Peter Lucas of Wiggenhall was one of their party at the time of the rising.
