Willelmus Spyr queritur de Iohanne Bonestrong de eo quod ipse die sabbati post proxima post festum Corporis Christi anno regni regis Ricardi secundi post conquestum quarto vi et armis videlicet gladiis baculis et co. clausum et domos ipsius Willelmi apid Oldeforde in parochia de Stebenhith fregit et bona et catalla sua videlicet cibaria et potum ibidem inventa cepit et asportavit et in predictum Willelmum ibidem insultum fecit et ipsum verbavit vulneravit et male tractavit ita quod vita sua desperatur et alia enormia et dampnum ipsius Willelmi xx li. et contra pacem regis nunc unde petit remedium.
Text (English translation)[November 1382] Midd'. William Spyr complains against John Bonestrong that on 15 June 1381 at Old Ford in the parish of Stepney with force and arms, viz with swords, staves, etc., he broke the close and houses of William and took goods and chattels found there, viz meal and pots and assaulted the said William and struck wounded and badly beat him so that his life was despaired of and other enormities to the damage of the said William of 20 pounds and against the King's peace.
