II, Part II, m. 11d 20 Feb 1383 Westminster Commission of oyer and terminer to Robert Bealknap, Edward de Sancto Johanne, John Faluesle, William Percy and Roger Asshebournehamme, on complaint by Richard, earl of Arundel, that William Grete of Lewys [Lewes], William Wodelond of Clyve by Lewys [Cliffe Hill], and other insurgents in the county of Sussex, came armed to Lewes, broke his closes and the gates, doors and windows of his castle there, threw down his buildings, consumed and destroyed ten casks of wine, value £100, and burned his rolls, rentals and other muniments.
