Text (English translation)Norfolk Henry Lomenour appeared on the fourth day through his attorney against John Pertrych of Felmingham, Edward Leythe of Marsham, John Busshop of Marsham, Robert Gerard of Witchingham, James the son of John Taillour of Witchingham, John Lystere of Lenwade, John Hebbe of Lenwade, Henry Smyth of St Faiths, William Hardyng of Sloley and Robert Owey of Sloley, in a plea of why they broke into the same Henry's close and houses at Norwich with force and arms and cut down his trees lately growing there, and seized and carried off those trees and other goods and chattels of his to the value of forty marks, as well as twenty marks of his money in coined money, and a certain box and two bags of his, with charters, deeds and other muniments of his contained in the same box and bags, and they threatened the same Henry with the destruction of his houses there until Henry Ged, John Sporle and John Geywode had made fine in forty pounds in the name of the same Henry with the aforesaid John, Edward, John, Robert, James, John, John, Henry Smyth, William and Robert to save his aforesaid houses, and other outrages etc., to the great harm and against the peace etc. And they do not appear. And as often before the sheriff was ordered to seize them. And the sheriff returns that they are not found, nor do they have anything etc. by which etc. Therefore the sheriff is ordered to have them put in exigent from county court to county court until etc. they are outlawed if [they do] not etc. And if etc., then he is to seize them etc., and [keep] them safely etc., and to have their bodies before the lord king at the octaves of St Hilary wherever etc. And on this at the quinzaine of Trinity etc. On which day the sheriff did not send a writ. Therefore the sheriff is ordered to have them put in exigent again from county court to county court until etc. they are outlawed if [they do] not etc. And if etc., then he is to seize them and [keep] them safely etc., and to have their bodies before the lord king on the morrow of St Martin wherever etc. On which day the sheriff did not send a writ. Therefore the sheriff is ordered to have them put in exigent again from county court to county court until etc. they are outlawed if [they do] not etc. And if etc., then he is to seize them and [keep] them safely etc., and to have their bodies before the lord king fifteen days after the day of Holy Trinity wherever etc. The same day is given both to the aforesaid Henry Lomnour, complainant, through his attorney, and to John Bemond of Bradfield, John Hermer, John Myryman of Honing, John Nortgate of Honing, William Godman of Honing, John Mey of Honing, John Tosk of Bradfield, Robert Woderove of Bradfield, Adam Peseacre of Bradfield, and Walter Strit of Bradfield in the aforesaid plea, at the request of the parties without essoin.
