The jurors of Thedwesrtry [Hundred] viz John Strange, Abel Berman, Richard Tymworth, Robert de Halle, Eustace Rous, John Wyssman, William Maynard, William Sewale, Geoffrey atte Hel, John Aldewyk, John Bayly and Adam Skynherd say on their oath that John Wraw chaplain the chief raiser and leader of companies of enemies of the Lord King in the county of Suffolk in the time of rumour and rising on Thursday 13 June 1381 broke into the belltower of Cavendish church at Cavendish and feloniously stole gold nobles worth one thousand pounds found there and feloniously plundered jewels, woollen cloth, silver vases and other goods and chattels to the value of one hundred pounds from John Cavendish the chief justice of the Lord King. Also the said jurors present that the same John Wraw and Geoffrey the Vicar of All Saints of Sudbury with two hundred other unknown men on Saturday 15 June 1381 went to Mildenhall and there feloniously killed Brother John de Cambridge, Prior of Bury St Edmunds. Also the said jurors present that the same John Wraw with many other unknown men on the said day and year went to Mildenhall and entered the close of John Banne of Mildenhall and feloniously broke open chests of the said John in his chamber and feloniously took ten marks of silver, linen and woollen cloth, brass vessels and other household utensils to the value of one hundred shillings. The jurors of Thedwestry [Hundred] present that John Wraw chaplain the chief raiser and leader of the company of the enemies of the Lord King in the county of Suffolk in the time of rumour and rising broke the belltower of the church of Cavendish on 13 June 1381 at Cavendish and feloniously gold in nobles worth one thousand pounds found there and feloniously robbed from John de Cavendissh chief justice of the Lord King jewels, linen and woollen cloth, silver vases and other goods and chattels to the value of one hundred shillings.
