Text (English translation)Surrey: John Dene of Merstham, at another time taken for diverse felonies and committed to the aforesaid goal in the custody of William Percy, late sheriff of the aforesaid county, now came before the justices here, having been brought by the now sheriff, and upon this, the aforesaid indictment having been seen, on account that the justices here are not yet advised to arraign the same John upon that indictment. Therefore, the same John is dismissed by the mainprise of John Partenhale, Richard Smyth of Merstham, William Charllewode and Thomas Legeard, who mainprised him, to have his body before the aforesaid justices on Saturday next after the feast of Corpus Christi, and so from day to day until, etc. And both the aforesaid William Percy, late sheriff, and also the now sheriff should be discharged from the body of the same John and are quit, etc.
