Text (English translation)Middlesex: The same prior by his aforesaid attorney appeared on the fourth day against John Halyngbury of Wandsworth in the county of Surrey concerning a plea whereby, by force and arms, he broke into the close and houses of the same prior at Highbury and Clerkenwell, and burnt his charters, deeds, rolls of courts and other muniments found there, and took and carried away his goods and chattels to the value of £40 found there, and inflicted other outrages on him, to the serious damage of the same prior and against the peace of the king, etc. And he has not come. And just as before, the sheriff was ordered that he take him. And the sheriff now reports that he is not found, etc. Therefore, just as on several occasions, the sheriff is ordered that he take him, if, etc, and saving, etc, in such a way that he has his body here in the octave of St Michael by the justices, etc.
