| Text (English translation) | Cambridgeshire William Bateman appeared in person on the fourth day against Robert Outlawe, Robert Cosyn, Robert son of Robert Outlawe, Henry Aleyn, John Aleyn, Robert Boyton, John Mareys, John Taillour of Whaddon, John Woky, John Welewys, Peter Manypeny Ralph Heyward, Andrew Garlond and William Moigne, in a plea of why with force and arms they broke into the close and houses of the same William Bateman at Harlton, and took and carried off his goods and chattels found there, to the value of forty pounds, and other outrages etc. And they did not appear. And the sheriff was ordered to attach them etc. And the sheriff now sends word that each of the aforesaid Robert Outlawe and Robert Cosyn is attached by William Cosyn and John Outlawe. Therefore they are in mercy. And the sheriff is ordered to distrain them by all their lands etc. And that about the issue etc. And to have their bodies here fifteen days after St Hilary's day. And concerning the aforesaid Robert son of Robert and all the others, the sheriff sends word that they have nothing etc. Therefore the sheriff is ordered to seize them if etc. So that he has their bodies here at the aforesaid term etc. |
