Ad quem diem [pascha 10 Ric II] ... venit predictus Thomas in custod' mar'. Et similiter juratores venunt qui super premissis electi triati et jurati dicunt super sacramentum suum quod predictus Thomas in nullo est culpabilis de feloniis ert prodicionibus predictis nec hiis occasionibus se retraxit. Ideo ipse eat inde quietus. |
| Text (English translation) | ... At Hilary term 10 Richard II [January 1387] comes the said Thomas Farndon and surrendered himself to prison ... And immediately brought by the keeper [of the Marshalsea] to court he ewas asked how hw would plead; he says that is totally innocent of the aforesaid felonies and treasons und puts himself on the country ... At Easter term 1387 comes before the court in the custody of the keeper and similarly, the jurors come and are elected, tried and sworn in and they say upon their oaths that Thomas is not guilty of the aforesaid felonies and treasons and that he did not withdraw from suit. Therefore, he is discharged. |
