[Seven tenants fined between 1d and 2d for minor trespasses with animals] At this court the lord by his steward grants Edith, who was the wife of Richard Wattekyn 7 acres of bond land ... Inquisition [jurors names; some legible] John Aleyn, Walter Aleyn, John Ponstepet, John Smythys, William Shypwryght ...? [At least two more re-grants of bond land] [In the following court a year later, 22 Feb 1383, Margaret Bouges comes and receives 5 acres and another 2 acres of bond land]
General InformationThe wording implies that the burning of the court rolls was carried out collectively by the unfree tenants of the manor. The document is badly faded at the end and several re-grants of bond tenements are illegible. Walter Bygood and his wife Isabel held the manor from 1378 until Walter's death in 1398.
