Text (English translation)Norfolk. Richard Crul of Felmingham appeared through John Drake, his attorney, against Robert Boydone on a plea that with force and arms he broke the close and houses of the said Richard at Felmingham, and cut down his trees lately growing there, and burnt those trees, and also other goods and chattels of his found there to the value of £40, and likewise charters, writings and other muniments of his, and other enormities etc against the peace etc. And he did not come. And, just as frequently, the sheriff was ordered to arrest him and produce him here in the octave of Trinity 1383. And the sheriff reports presently that he cannot be found. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to cause him to be demanded from county to county, until he be outlawed. And, if he then arrests him, produce him here in the octave of Hilary 1384. Afterwards, namely on 24 November 1383, the aforesaid Robert appeared here and provided sufficient mainprise for the lord King, namely Geoffrey Somertone, Henry Lesyngham, Nicholas Wychyngham and Roger de Blicklyng of the county of Norfolk, who undertake to produce him here at the aforesaid term. And the writ regarding the above is returned. And it is granted returnable here at the aforesaid term. At which day the sheriff did not return the writ. And the aforesaid Robert, solemnly summoned, did not appear. Therefore, let him be newly demanded in the form aforesaid etc. And if he is then arrested, that he be here in the octave of Martinmas 1384. Therefore, the aforesaid mainpernors should be arrested. At which day, the sheriff did not return the writ. Therefore, let him be newly demanded in the form aforesaid. And if he is then arrested, that he be here in the octave of Trinity 1385.
