Text (English translation)Suffolk. Clement de Brethenham appeared through William Hornyng, his attorney, against Richard Floketone, Alexander Mannyng, Philip Nokemere, Ralph Skamaylle, John Skamaylle, Robert del Wode, John Chercheman, John Calange, William Calange, John Benorthe, Stephan Gerard, William Caym, John Thebaud, Gilbert Whytyng, Robert Pleyford, William Efoul, William Seman, John Adam, tailor, William Fyn, John Smyth of Mersshlond senior and John Smyth junior on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close of the said Clement at Alderton, and burnt a certain chest of his found there, with the charters, writings and other muniments contained in the same chest, and inflicted other enormities on him, to the grave damage of the said Clement, against the King's peace. And they did not come. And the sheriff was ordered to attach them etc. And the sheriff reports that they have nothing etc. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them and produce them here in the octave of Michaelmas 1383.
