Text (English translation)Somerset. The master of the Hospital of Saint John the Baptist of Bridgwater appeared through Thomas Cammelle his attorney against John Blake, servant, John Smythe, chaplain, and Richard Flecchere on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close of the said master at Bridgwater, and took and led away twenty bull calves and forty lambs of his found there, price 100s, and likewise took and carried away two hundred rabbits, price 20s, and also other goods and chattels of his found there to the value of 50m, and other enormities etc. And they did not come. And, as before, the sheriff was ordered that he not omit, on account of the liberty of the town of Bridgewater, to arrest them and produce them here in the octave of Trinity, regarding which day all pleas were furnished here in the octave of Michaelmas 1381. And the sheriff reports that they cannot be found. Therefore, as many times the sheriff is ordered that he not omit, on account of the liberty aforesaid, to arrest them and produce them here in the octave of Hilary 1382.
