General InformationNote: General Commission of Oyer and Terminer in Yorkshire, 5 Ric II (1382) This roll of plaints by bill seems to have been compiled under the commission to hear and determine 'treasons, insurrections, felonies, trespasses...' in Yorkshire, issued on 5 August 1382 to John of Gaunt and six colleagues: C 66/313, m. 30d, inadequately calendared in CPR 1381-85, p. 195. The wording of the heading fits that of the commission, and the sessions took place on 9 and 12 September 1382. The justices' commission included the power to hear plaints. D. C. 20/11/1987 The membrane is torn along the left-hand side.
