General Informationcf. TNA, KB 27/486 m. 57. The Cistercian priory of Field Dalling was one of the alien houses in England. It is not clear whether Field Dalling was an independant priory or a parcel of Long Bennington priory in Lincolnshire. The fact that the prior of Long Bennington starts the trespass case and not someone from Field Dalling points to dependency of Long Bennington (cf. VCH Norfolk, vol. ii, pp. 462-3).
