Text (English translation)Middlesex. John Boterwyk by own person appears against Thomas Ropere, Adam Gynes, Geoffrey Taillour of Moulsham, John Clob, William Saresson, Stephen Pays of Chelmsford, Richard Spark, John Harry, John Flemyng, John Hokere, Gerard Waryn, carpenter, Alan atte Forthe, tailor, John Bisshop, tailor, William Poggare, Nicholas Thurston, carpenter, John Neville, barber, Richard Neville of Southwark, ostler, Alan Whytbred, Gilbert Fullere and John Godere of Hendon on a plea that they with force and arms [took] goods and chattels of the same John Boterwyk worth £40 found in his houses at at Ebury, Kensyngton and the village of Westminster and they burnt the houses and other enormities etc. and at grave damage and against the peace of the king etc. They do not come. The sheriff had been ordered to arrest them etc. And the sheriff now returns that they cannot be found. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to begin the process of outlawry ... He is ordered, as before, to arrest them ... And to have their bodies before the king's bench in the week of Purification of Mary (2 February). Sheriff does not send writs; sheriff ordered to bring the defendants before the king's bench in the week of St Martin (11 November) ...
