Text (English translation)John Butterwyk in his own person appears against John Burgeys senior, Nicholas Rous, William Taillour of Chelsea, Thomas Copshethe, Adam Pollard, glover, William Cairon of Holborn, John Carpenter of Great Greenford, John Cornhull of Little Greenford, John Senier, saddler, John Creyk, tailor, John Walssh of Hounslow and Robert Paryse of Hounslow on a plea that they together with William Chepenham of Chelmsford, Thomas Mate and Robert West of Hounslow with force and arms burnt the houses of the said John de Butterwyk at Ebury, Knightsbridge and Westminster and took and carried away goods and chattels found there worth £40, and other enormities etc. and at grave damage and against the peace etc. They do not come. As before the sheriff is ordered to arrest them etc. And the sheriff now sends words that they cannot be found. Therefore, as before the sheriff is ordered to arrest them etc... And to have their bodies in court here on the day of Michaelmas in the quindene ... And of the said William Chepenham of Chelmsford, Thomas Mate and Robert West of Hounslow the sheriff reports that they are dead. Therefore about the said William Chepenham of Chelmsford, Thomas Mate and Robert West nothing needs to be done for the future etc.
