Text (English translation)The abbot and convent request that the correction of their tenants involved in the rebellion be granted to them, or that another remedy is ordained so that the abbot and abbey are not destroyed and burnt by them in the future, and that no charter of pardon is granted to any of those indicted until they have made satisfaction for their rebellion. The rebels have been indicted before Lord de la Zouche by a commission of the king.
General Information[c. 1381] Another petition that seems to be in the aftermath of the peasants' revolt. This would seem to place the petition in the latter half of 1381 or perhaps 1382, though the commission referred to in the petition may be those issued in early July 1381 (CPR 1381-5, pp.69-76).
