Text (English translation)The commons of England: in the recent revolt many people of the realm have been ousted from their freeholds, rents, and services, including men of the Church, and even now are detained from their possessions without due cause and by force. They request that the king and lords in parliament ordain that all those who are ousted from their freeholds might be restored to their tenements without any further process sued against the said intruders and occupiers, and that no man of any rank be so bold as to keep such possessions, on pain of forfeiture and imprisonment. They further request that writs might be sent from the Chancery to the sheriffs in each county where such a case has occurred, and that those ousted might have seisin of their properties and be able to pursue their rights by the common law. Response: [none].
