John Gildesburgh, knight, plaintiff, appears by John Giffard his attorney, against John Onere of Warley, Thomas [of] the church of Little Warley, Robert Serle, John Starlyng of Warley, tailor, John Whelere of Horndon, John Flemmyng of Warley, Richard Janne, Benedict Onere, John Wroth of Warley, John Osimere of Bexhill, William Pyndour of Bexhill, John Merssh of Plumstead, Thomas Jaket of North Cray, William Taillour of Foots Cray, Walter Cook of Lesnes(?), Stephen of Dewes of Lambourne, John son of John Wrighte of Stapleford, John son of John Gilberd of Lambourne, William Kentissh of Coggeshall, John Tannere, John Spicer of Coggeshall, John Upton of Broomfield, Walter Gunheld of Shalford, William Bygge of Little Leighs, John Mariot of Witham, junior, William Smalsho of Good Easter and Walter Stilman of Good Easter, defendants, on a plea that they broke the close and houses of John Gildesburgh at Wennington and High Easter and burnt charters, deeds, rolls and other muniments found there and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £40 found there and made death threats against Gildesburgh's men and servants so that they did not dare not go to his manors to plough the land or tend the animals so that he lost the profits from the lands and animals and the services of men for a great period of time. And other enormities etc. And against the peace etc. And they do not come. And the sheriff had been ordered to arrest them. And the sheriff now reports that he cannot bring them before the court. And the sheriff is ordered to arrest them etc. So that he has their bodies in court in the quindene of Michaelmas. Essex. The same John, plaintiff, appears by the said attorney against John Holwell of Broomfield, chandler, Robert Rouchestre of Terling, John Roberd of High Easter, Geoffrey Smyth of High Easter, Nicholas Reve of Shellow Bowells, William Reve of Roxwell, Thomas Bedell of Fyfield, John Holdernesse, Simon Cartere of Little Dunmow, William Whelere of Great Baddow, junior, Ricahrd Stalworth, Ricard atte Gore, John son of John Cartere of Great Baddow, junior, John Fulbourn of Stebbing.
