Item presentant quod die mercurii proxima post festum Sancti Botulphi anno supradicto Iohannes Bilagh de Hobbes et alii venerunt ad domum Willelmi Everard de Norwico et eum intantum minavit quod dictus Willelmus eis optulit pro fine et timore xl s. argenti in grave extorsione. Text (English translation)Westwick leet - Norwich Westwick The jurors present and say that John Toke of Norwich came on Wednesday 19th June 1381 to Nicholas de Blakene of Norwich and out of fear the said Nicholas paid a fine to the said John of 40 s. in silver, in great extortion. Also they present that on Tuesday 18th June 1381 Thomas Wild of Norwich, fuller, and others came to the house of Walter de Bixton and threatened him to such an extent that, out of fear, the said Walter remitted six and a half marks which the said Thomas owed the said Walter, and this against his will and in great extortion. Also they present that on Wednesday 19th June 1381 John Bilagh of Hautbois and others came to the house of William Everard of Norwich and threatened him to such an extent that the said William paid them a fine for fear of 40 s. in silver, in great extortion. Also they present that on Monday 17th June 1381 Thomas Aslak of Norwich, cordwainer, and John de Northik , cook, with others feloniously killed and beheaded Reginald de Eccles. Also they present that on Monday 17th June 1381 Henry Correyour of Norwich and John ['Kayket' crossed out] Kek, draper, and others broke into the houses of Henry Lomynour of Norwich and feloniously took and carried away goods and chattels found there worth 10 marks. Also they present that on Monday 17th June 1381 Ralph Barbour of Norwich bought from someone unknown a pair of silver beads of the goods of Henry Lomynour and a psalter and broken maple-wood bowl and handed it back within the proclamation . Also they present that on Monday 17th June 1381 Thomas atte Chirche of Felthorpe carried away a fur coat from the house of Reginald de Eccles in Norwich.
