Text (English translation)Lothingland - at Beccles The jurors present that Richard Ressh, alien of Holland, lately staying in Lowestoft, on Tuesday 18th June 1381 feloniously in a warlike manner killed John Raas of Blundeston at Lowestoft at the time of the rising. Also they say that Robert Herde of Toft Monks in a warlike manner on the same Tuesday was consenter, abettor and attendant of the aforesaid crime at Lowestoft at the time of the rising. Also they say that John Boltere of Harleston was inciter, supporter and congregator of various men in various hundreds at the time of the rising in a warlike manner, and with many others unknown feloniously entered the close of John de Harlyng in the village of Corton, and there he feloniously plundered horses, cows, sheep, corn and malt worth 100 marks etc. Also they say that the same John Boltere on the same Tuesday feloniously entered the close of Hugo Fastolfe at Bradwell with many others unknown, and feloniously plundered and there he carried away cows, horses, sheep, malt, corn and other goods and chattels worth 100 marks. Also they say that the aforesaid Robert Herde on the aforesaid Tuesday in a warlike manner feloniously entered the close of John Race of Blundeston and there he feloniously plundered and carried away brass pots, cows, sheep and wool worth £4.
