Text (English translation)Bosmere-with-Claydon The jurors present that John Batisford, parson of the church of Bucklesham, Thomas Sampson and John Martyn, chaplain, on Sunday 16th June 1381 at the time of the rising were chief congregators and supporters from village to village of various men in the hundreds of Samford, Ipswich, Colneis, Bosmere and Claydon, falsely and fraudulently and against the peace and dignity of the crown. Also they say that Richard de Denarston and John Bengle, chief congregators at the time of the rising, feloniously came in a warlike manner to the village of Barham with many others unknown, namely, on Friday 14th June 1381 and there they feloniously broke into the close and houses of Thomas atte Ook and feloniously plundered and carried away gold, silver, maple bowls, pans, linen, wool, sheep, cows and horses worth 100 marks. Also they say that Adam Rogges, bailiff of the manor of Aldham, chief congregator and supporter at the time of the rising, in a warlike manner and against the dignity of the crown, came feloniously and fraudulently with many others unknown to the village of Battisford, namely on Saturday 15th June 1381 and there he broke into and tore apart the close and houses of Robert Asshefeld and feloniously plundered and carried away goods and chattels, namely sheep, cows, horses and wool, and other goods and chattels worth £40. Also they say that John Dene of Ashbocking, one of the congregators at the time of the rising, feloniously and treacherously killed William Fraunceys of Melton at Ipswich on Monday 17th June 1381.
