Text (English translation)Pleas before Robert Tresilian and William Morrers justices of the lord King assigned to enquire hear and determine concerning all treasons felonies trespasses extortions oppressions damages burdens and excesses done to the lord King and his people in the counties of Essex and Hertfordshire. Also 26 June at Havering-atte-Bower Thomas Carpenter John Reylok Walter Warner Richard Tanner William Pynchebek John Chaloner John Cramfeld cobbler John Gale John Retherwode John Halion Richard Redyng and Ralph Pynchebek of the hundred of [blank] in the county of Essex sworn for the King at Havering-atte-Bower who say on their oath that Walter Podenale of London John Michel of Theydon Garnon Matthew Molesdale of Molesdale and John Shepherd of Havering-atte-Bower on the Wednesday before Corpus Christi [12 June 1381] at Brentwood with force and arms and against the peace of the King arose with the commons of the said county against the King and the laws of England and afterwards continued from the aforesaid day to the Saturday following [15 June 1381] in the company of the said county as far as London and were at the killing of divers lieges of the King and others of Flanders and the burning of the House of St John of Clerkenwell, the Savoy and other houses within the kingdom of England and were adherents to the said company as enemies of the lord King and rebels to the law and customs of the kingdom of England and upon this on the same day John [membrane damaged] pher was accused in the presence of the said justices.
