Text (English translation)The said escheator [William Hastyngs] answers for ... Of 33 acres of arable land with appurtenance in Mundham for which 2 s. 6 d. rent is paid at the same place on Michaelmas; and of a cottage with appurtenance in Great Yarmouth which were held by Henry de Bungeye of Canterbury, armourer, convicted and beheaded before Robert Tresilian, justice of the lord king in the county [the escheator answers]. And of 2 s. of profit of a messuage and 1 ½ acres of land with appurtenance in Tilney in the county of Norfolk which was held by Jacob Boutere, traitor and fugitive because of his insurrection against [the lord king and] his allegiance, and which he held in his wife's Johanna's right remains in the king's hands. And of 2 s. of profit of a cottage and 1 ½ acres of land in [East] Bergholt which were held by Thomas Flecchere of [East] Bergholt, beheaded for diverse treasons and felonies committed by him; he held [the land] on the day he was beheaded of the Prior of St John of Jerusalem for which services, he [the escheator] does not know; it remains in the hands of the lord king. Goods and chattels of the outlawed and the fugitives Norfolk And of 13 s. 4 d. of goods and chattels of Geoffrey Lestan, who was beheaded for diverse treasons. Norfolk old escheats (vet' escheat'; i.e. carryover from previous account) And of 2 s. of profit of 2 acres of land in Walsoken in a field called Sybillye in the said county which was owned by Roger Hunte, traitor, who held this land in his demesne and in fee on the day he was convicted for diverse treasons in the recent insurrection against [the lord king and] his allegiance; [the land] remains in the hands of the king since the year before for the above reasons, to be farmed out for the year at the usual terms ... And of 18 d. of profit of 3 acres of free land in Tilney which was owned by Adam de Henemethe (Enemothe) in the said county , traitor and fugitive, who held this land in his demesne and his fee the day he fled because of treason; [the land] remains in the hands of the king since the year before for the above reasons, to be farmed out for the year at the usual terms ... Of 33 acres of arable land with appurtenances in Mundham for which 2 s. 6 d. rent is paid at the same place on Michaelmas; and of a ruined cottage with appurtenance in Great Yarmouth which were held by Henry de Bungeye of Canterbury, armourer, convicted and beheaded before Robert Tresilian, justice of the lord king in the county; and the aforesaid land generates a profit of 2 s. 9 d. a year and the aforesaid cottage 2 s. a year; they remain the hands of the lord king ... The same escheator answers for 8 ½ d. of profit of the said 33 acres land for the period of this account period, namely from the said 12 December until the said feast of Easter following, that is for a quarter of a year and two days of the 2 s. 9 d. a year. And of the 2 s. 6 d. to be paid on Michaelmas he [the escheator] is not answerable because it did not fell due in the account period. But he answers for 6 d. for the said cottage in Yarmouth for the said period of the 2 s. profit a year. And of 2 s. of profit of a messuage and 1 ½ acres of land with appurtenance in Tilney in the county of Norfolk which was held by Jacob Boutere, traitor and fugitive because of his insurrection against [the lord king and] his allegiance, and which he held in his wife's Johanna's right remains in the king's hands.
