Item dicunt quod Ricardus Gomelyndenne de comitatu Sussex die veneris proxima post festum Corporis Christi anno regni regis predicti quarto venit cum aliis ignotis de comitatu Sussex ad villam de Ealdynge et domos Roberti Sandherst prostraverunt et bona et catalla sua ad valentiam centum librarum ceperunt et asportaverunt contra dominum Regem et populum suum.
Text (English translation)Hundred of Twyford Inquisition held at Maidstone on 4th July 1381 before Thomas Holand earl of Kent and the king's justices into various uprisings and assemblies against the king's peace, by oath of John atte Melle, John Quyntyn, John Orgar, Richard de Wyke, William Cod, John Holdenne, John Danyell, John atte Broke, Thomas Maryon, Ralph Pak, Peter Rawlyn and William Fordhell, who say that John Boox of East Malling on 9th June 1381 feloniously killed John Glovere at Rochester. John Hales of West Malling on 7th June 1381 at Dartford with others unknown made various uprisings and assemblies against the king and his people, and on 9th June tore down the manor of Nicholas Heryng at North Cray. Laurence Thresshere of Marden on 13th June 1381 at Yalding with others unknown made various proclamations, uprisings and assemblies against the king and his people. Richard Gomelyndenne of the county of Sussex on 14th June 1381 went with others unknown of the county of Sussex to the village of Yalding and tore down the house of Robert Sandherst and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £100 against the king and his people.
