Text (English translation)Hundred of Hoo. Inquisition held at Maidstone on the 5th July 1381 before Thomas Holand earl of Kent and the assigned king's justices into various risings and assemblies against the king and his people, by oath of Robert de Berton, Andrew Rosekyn, Robert Salmon senior, Stephen Henry, John Compton, William Stonyng, John Herry, John Courtman, John Hook, Robert Salmon junior, William Watte and Matthew Sterre, who say on their oath that John Foxgrove of Stoke and Roger Plomer on 13th June 1381 with other unknown wrongdoers at the Savoy feloniously took and carried away certain shin armour against the king's peace, and the same day feloniously burnt the manor of the Savoy with others unknown against the king and his people.
