Text (English translation)Norfolk. Richard Crispyng of Catfield attached to answer William, Prior of Hickling. The Prior states by Henry de Lesyngham his attorney that on 20 June 1381 he broke the close of the said Prior at Hickling and took court rolls and other records concerning the Prior's lands in Hickling, Sea Palling and Horsey and burnt them, to the Prior's damage of 100 marks. Richard appears by John Drake his attorney and says that he is not guilty. Sheriff to summon jury.
