Robert Jowbel and William Brom kill Sir Robert de Salle
Also they present that Robert Jowbel of Southrepps and William Brom of Knapton admitted that they killed Sir Robert de Salle at [the Hospital of St Mary] Magdalene [at Mousehold] and then fled on the aforesaid day and year.
John Taylor and others coerce John de Basyngham and Thomas Colman and burn documents
[The jurors] also say that John Taylor of Barningham Norwood, Robert Jowbel of Southrepps and John Herman of Thwaite, along with many others, arrested John de Basyngham and Thomas Colman at Overstrand, and by force and arms led the aforesaid John and Thomas against their will up to the manors of Hanworth, Felbrigg, Barningham and Bessingham and to various other locations to burn court rolls of the said [manors], at which time the aforesaid John and Thomas despaired of their lives, on Wednesday 19th June 1381.
An inquisition at Thorpe Market presents that Robert Jowbel who held of the lady (Alice de Retysham) two acres of free land committed a felony for which he was indicted and subsequently fled. There it is ordered to seize the two acres into the hand of the lady.
