Benedict comes by Thomas Kenyfeld his attorney and Thomas comes himself and say not guilty and on country; jurors to come in quindene of Trinity. Simon Hey | Kent, Geoffrey Cartere of Sittingbourne was attached to answer Simon Hey by his attorney Thomas Holte in a plea that on Monday 10th June 1381, together with William Coupere of Kekkyngbourne, John Flecchere of Ospringe, William Couper that was Jak servant Strowe, Henry Plomford, Benedict Kyx, Thomas atte Doune and John Date soutere, by force and arms, namely swords, bows and arrows, he broke the close and houses of Simon at Ospringe and burned the timber from the said houses to the value of £10 and took away his goods and chattels, namely linen and woollen cloths, brass and copper vessels and gold and silver rings to the value of £20 and £32 in money, and consumed two tuns of wine of the same Simon to the value of £10, and did other damage to the value of 100 marks.
