William Bukherst et al. | Kent - William Bukherst, John Hamon and John Farngate attached to answer John Colpepir, John Kelsham and John Hegham clerk, who complain by Thomas Holte their attorney that, on 16 June 1381, together with John Bukherst, Stephen Bukherst, Henry Elmested, John atte Bergh and William Egerynden, with force and arms, namely swords, bows, arrows and axes, they broke the houses of the said John, John and John at Frittenden and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £20 and did other injuries to the grave damage [£40] of the said John, John and John and against the peace of the king. Defendants come by Richard Bokherst their attorney and say not guilty and on country - jurors come in three weeks of St Michael 7 RII - say that John Farngate is not guilty of said trespasses, say that William and John not guilty concerning seizure of goods and chattels, but that John broke the houses on said Sunday to plaintiffs damage of four marks, and that William afterwards that day broke the house to plaintiffs damage of 3s 4d. - jurors asked if William and John abetted or consented to destruction (ad frangendum) of the said houses - said not - adjudged that plaintiffs recover damages as assessed by jurors, so William and John to be arrested - plaintiffs in mercy for remainder of false claim - say they will not prosecute case further. | Frittenden,Kent | Attorney | View Incident page | ||

Benedict and Thomas atte Donne 'tanner' attached to answer Simon Hey, by his attorney Thomas Holt on a plea that together with John Date, cobbler, William Coupere of Kekkyngbourne, John Flecchere of Ospringe, William Coupere that was Jak servant Strowe, Henry Plomford and Geoffrey Cartere of Lyndyngbourne, on 10 June 1381, with force and arms, namely swords, bows and arrows, they broke the close and houses of the said Simon at Ospringe and burnt the timber of the said houses to the value of £10, and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £20 and £32 in money, and consumed two tuns of red wine worth £10 and did other damage to the value of 100 marks. Benedict comes by Thomas Kenyfeld his attorney and Thomas comes himself and say not guilty and on country; jurors to come in quindene of Trinity.
