Insurrection of John de Beaghendenn and attack on house of William de Horn
The Jurors there say upon their oath, that John de Beaghendenn, son of Adam de Beaghendenn, of Cranbrook, came to Tenterden, on Monday, on the vigil of St. Barnabas the Apostle, in the fourth year of the reign of Richard the Second (10th June, 1381), and made insurrection, against our Lord the King, and his people, and forced divers men of the foresaid vill into his assembly, and feloniously broke into the house of William de Horn, at Appledore, and took and carried away his goods and chattels to the value of ten pounds.
