Concerning lands forfeited by Thomas Ledere alias Thomas Plomer
Writ to John Rokel, escheator in co. Essex, to inquire concerning the petition of William Frost and Katherine his wife, late the wife of Thomas Ledere of Great Burstead, for the delivery to them for the term of Katherine's life of lands in Great Burstead held jointly by the said Katherine and Thomas by feoffment of John Salpreest of Southminster and taken into the king's hand on the conviction and beheading of the said Thomas under the name of Thomas Plommer of Billericay in Great Burstead for certain treasons. Inquisition, Billericay. The said Katherine held jointly with the said Thomas a cottage and curtilage and 5 acres of land in Billericay by feoffment of John Salprest. They are held of the abbot of Stratford by service unknown and were extended before Robert de Goldyngton, late escheator, at 2s. 6d. The said Thomas was convicted and beheaded at Billericay before Thomas de Wodestoke earl of Essex and Buckingham, and his fellows. Thomas Ledere of Great Burstead and Thomas Plomer of Billericay are one and the same person.
