Order, upon petition of John Cranewys one of the clerks of chancery, to deliver to him 40s. in their keeping; as his petition shows that at the time of the late insurrection he was threatened in life and limb by John Buntyng one of the chiefs of the insurgents, and that his houses should be burned, showing that to save his life and houses certain of his friends made a fine of 40s. with the said John Buntyng and paid it of the petitioner's money, that John Buntyng was after taken, brought to Thetford, and there beheaded, and that the money was then found upon him, which the mayor etc. seized as forfeit to the king, and he acknowledged before his death to be that received of the petitioner.
