William Wygge and others, on Tuesday 25 June 1381, began an insurrection in the city of Winchester, and feloniously killed Walter Hogyn there, and feloniously and treacherously broke into the lord king's staple there, and seized and carried off the lord king's rolls and records found there, and are the principal insurgents and traitors etc.
William Wygge and the others met at Farnham, coming from London to Winchester on Monday 17 June 1381, and there they came to an agreement with Henry Clerk and others [travelling from Winchester], and plotted insurrection among themselves; and afterwards, travelling to Hampage, they took an oath to one another and planned the insurrection. And from there they proceeded to Winchester and took part in the rising there.
William Wygge and others, on Wednesday 19 June 1381, treacherously rose up in the town of Romsey against the lord king and his people, and travelled with a great company and did many evil things in contempt of the lord king, his crown and dignity; and that they are the principal insurgents and the lord king's common traitors etc.
