William Smyth of Coggeshall and others incited rebellion.
William Smyth, Robert Sadeler Hugo Fuller, John Wynterflood (all of Coggeshall), John Turnour of Stisted, Robert Cardemakere and Geoffrey Bromlie (both of Bocking) and John Rypoun were the first to incite rebellion and gathered the people in Bocking, Braintree, Stisted and Coggeshall.
Jugdement passed at Colchester on Walter Oxenhey and five other rebels, indicted by an inquisition of Lexden hundred.
Jugdement passed at Colchester (8th August 1381) on Walter Oxenhey of Elmstead and five other rebels, indicted by an inquisition of Lexden hundred. All six were acquitted.
