DetailsThe jurors present that William Marche was the leader of the said malefactors. And the aforesaid John Stokwyth came to him at the aforesaid day, year and place, begging him for the love of God and for charity to grant him his life; which William, for himself and his companions, thus gathered into unlawful assemblies, refused to grant him this unless the same John was willing to give forty shillings, which he gave him there to the salvation of his life and to carry out the said William's will.
