DetailsThe jurors say that Robert Galoun, William Marche, Robert Hunter, John Cant, Thomas Symmeson senior, John Broun and many other malefactors whose names are unknown, hearing of the uprisings in the south, rose up in a similar manner at Scarborough on Sunday 23 June 1381, gathering together to the number of 500 men, taking oaths and handing out hoods, and laying siege to the houses of many loyal men, namely Robert de Aclem, John de Aclom, William de Shropham, Alan Waldyf, John de Stokwyth and many others, dragging them from their houses, imprisoning them and forcing them to swear an oath, and stealing goods from John Stokwych and John de Aclom.
