General InformationThe first entry on this membrane contains the case against William Assheman of Toft Monks who had his property looted, and he himself fled in a ship out to sea where he was captured by the French. His case shows some parallels to Edmund Gurnay and John Holkham who where pursued by rebels and fled in a boat. Because we cannot connect the Assheman case with the revolt, the participants in this event have not been put into the the database. However we have left the translation of the case.
