Text (English translation)Middlesex. Andrew Tettesworth, brewer, by his attorney appears against John Smert of Lisson Grove, John Newe of Lisson Grove, William Heighwell, wheeler, John Wheler 'yeprincesses yoman' (the yeoman of the princess), Thomas Bedeward, John Placydacy, wright, and Alan Whitbrede of Fulham in a plea of trespass. And they do not come. And the sheriff had been ordered to attach them. And the sheriff returns that the aforesaid John Wheler is attached by John Ive and Richard Est. Therefore, they are in mercy. And the sheriff is ordered to distrain thev afiresaid John Wheler of all his lands etc. and (report) about the profit and to have his body before the king's bench in the octave of Michaelmas wheresoever etc. And of the aforesaid John Smert, John Newe, William, Thomas, John Placydacy and Alan the sheriff returns that they do not have anything (by which they can be distrained). Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them ... and to have their bodies before the king's bench at the aforesaid term...
