Text (English translation) | Essex. Richard de Northampton, plaintiff, by his attorney, appears against John Waleys, John Symme, John Reyner, John Pelman, John Chircheman and John Warde of Canfield, defendants, on a plea that with force and arms they broke the close and houses of the said Richard at Little Canfield and took and carried away goods and chattels worth £40 and also charters, deeds and other muniments found there. And [they committed] other enormities etc. And against the peace etc. They do not come. The sheriff has been ordered to attach them. And the sheriff now reports that they do not have anything [by which they can be distrained] etc. Therefore, the sheriff is ordered to arrest them etc. ...
