Et predicti Benedictus Iohannes Iohannes et Iohannes Pound vi et armis die sabbati in vigiliis Trinitatis anno predicto et quamplures de predicta societate et congregationibus predictis venerunt in villam de Northcraye et ibidem domum Nicholi Heryng felonice fregerunt et prosternaverunt et bona et catalla ipsius Nicholi ibidem dispoliaverunt et abduxerunt et co. Et quod Petrus Bresiere de Wrotham Iohannes Bolyne Ricardus Treshere et Willelmus Tailour filius Petri Brasiere de eadem villa spontanea et mera voluntate sua adherebant diversis congregationibus et conventiculis qui se levaverunt seduciose contra dominum Regem et populum suum a die et anno predictis et co. manutenendo omnes seduciones et felonias per eosdem factas medio tempore. Et dicunt quod Paulus Betell de Compe in crastino Corporis Christi anno predicto venit London' et ibidem quemdam hominem felonice mactavit cum baculo. Et quod Iohannes Pound die et anno predicto venit London' et ibidem quendam hominem de nacione fflandrense mactavit felonice. Et quod predictus Iohannes Bolyne et Ricardus Threshere cum conventicula sua die Mercurii ante festum Translationis Sancti Thomae Martyris anno predicto vi et armis apud Cokheshethe seduciose insultum fecerunt Willelmum ate Hothe et ad eum cum suis sagittis sagittaverunt felonice. Et quod predictus Iohannes Bolyne in festo Sancte Trinitatis anno predicto venit in villam de Chalke et ibidem vi et armis felonice unum equum Ricardi Pope ceperit et abduxit pretii xiii. s. iiii. d. Et quod Willelmus Skele et Nicholus Hokbourne spontanea et mera voluntate sua adherebant diversis congregationibus et conventiculis qui se levaverunt seduciose contra dominum Regem et populum suum et sic in societate eorumdem permanserunt continue a die et anno supradictis manutenendo omnes seduciones felonice per eosdem factas et medio tempore videlicet die sabbati proxima post festum Trinitatis anno predicto eisdem Willelmus et Nicholus et quamplures de predicta societate et congregationibus predictis miserunt ad domum Iacobi de Pecham apud Wrotham et ibidem ipsum Iacobem ceperunt et imprisonaverunt inminando ipsum de vita et membris et de combusticione domorum sui quosque iidem Iacobus invitis concesserat prefatis Willelmo et Nicholo iiiixx acras terrae viii acras prati de quibus eidem Iacobus prius tulit quemdam assisam nove disseisine coram Roberto Bealknapp et aliis iusticiariis domini Regis. Text (English translation) | Hundred of Wrotham Benedict Leueyng of Maplescombe, John Sparwe of Farningham, John Donemawe of Forstall in Kingsdown and John Pound of the same of their own free will joined various congregations and assemblies which rose seditiously against the king and his people, and remained in their company continuously from the 6th of June 1381 until the present, supporting all seditions and felonies committed by them. And the aforesaid Benedict, John, John and John came with force and arms on the 8th June 1381 with many others of the said assembly to North Cray and feloniously broke into the house of Nicholas Heryng and threw it down and plundered and carried off his goods and chattels. Peter Bresiere of Wrotham, John Bolyne, Richard Treshere and William Tailour son of Peter Brasiere of the same town of their own free will joined various congregations and assemblies which rose seditiously against the king and his people on the day and year aforesaid and supporting all seditions and felonies committed by them at that time, and the aforesaid Peter, John, Richard and William came to North Cray with force and arms on 8th June and feloniously broke into the house of Nicholas Heryng and threw it down and plundered and carried off his goods and chattels. Paul Betell of Coombe on the 14th June 1381 went to London and feloniously slaughtered certain men with a staff. John Pound on the same day went to London and feloniously slaughtered a certain man of the Flemish nation. The aforesaid John Bolyne and Richard Threshere with their affinity on 3rd July 1381 with force and arms at Coxheath seditiously made an assault on William ate Hothe and feloniously shot arrows at him. The aforesaid John Bolyne on 9th June 1381 went to Chalk and there with force and arms feloniously seized and carried off a horse belonging to Richard Pope worth 13 s. 4 d. William Skele and Nicholas Hokbourne of their own free will joined various congregations and assemblies which rose seditiously against the king and his people, and remained in their company continuously from the day and year aforesaid, supporting all seditions and felonies committed by them at that time, thus on 15th June 1381 the same William and Nicholas and certain others of the same company aforesaid were sent to the house of Jacob de Pecham at Wrotham and imprisoned him, threatening life and limb, and the burning of his houses, unless Jacob against his will surrendered to the aforesaid William and Nicholas 80 acres of land and 8 acres of meadow which Jacob had previously received at a certain assize of novel disseisin before Robert Bealknapp and other justices of the king. Peter Hwetegrom rose up and incited others to destroy and burn houses and so continued from day to day up to the present time. |
