Insurrection of William Skele and Nicholas Hokbourne and attack on Jacon de Pecham, 15 June 1381
William Skele and Nicholas Hokbourne of their own free will joined various congregations and assemblies which rose seditiously against the king and his people, and remained in their company continuously from the day and year aforesaid, supporting all seditions and felonies committed by them at that time, thus on 15th June 1381 the same William and Nicholas and certain others of the same company aforesaid were sent to the house of Jacob de Pecham at Wrotham and imprisoned him, threatening life and limb, and the burning of his houses, unless Jacob against his will surrendered to the aforesaid William and Nicholas 80 acres of land and 8 acres of meadow which Jacob had previously received at a certain assize of novel disseisin before Robert Bealknapp and other justices of the king.
