John Kentynge, chaplain, raises hue and cry against William de Thelnetham and makes a forcible fine
[The jurors] also say that John Kentynge, chaplain, on Monday 17th June 1381, along with other unknown wrongdoers at the time of the uprising and rumour, came to Letton before the society raised against the king's peace, and he raised a hue and cry against William de Thelnetham and called him a traitor, and thus he wished to kill the same William, against the king's peace, and thus the aforesaid William by the grace of God evaded the hands of the aforesaid wrongdoers, but at no point dared to approach his house until a fine of two cows worth 20 s. was made with the aforesaid John Kentyng, against the king's peace.
