2954 | Geoffrey Kyngesman and others rise up at Beccles and break into the house of John Bronewyne | The jurors present that Geoffrey Kyngesman of Beccles, Roger de Bradewell of Beccles, Robert Borhed of Beccles, Richard Fitele son of John Fitele of Beccles and Edmund Barbour, staying in Beccles, assembled together all the wrongdoers of Beccles, Barsham, Shipmeadow, Worlingham and North Cove ; Geoffrey Buk of Benacre and Thomas Dobbisson of Covehithe assembled together all the wrongdoers of Benacre and Northalis and made an uprising against the king's crown and his dignity at Beccles on Tuesday 18th June 1381, along with Robert Bonefelaa of Ellingham, Walter Wysk of Ellingham, Geoffrey Hardewyn, wright, of Barnby and Richard Galle of Barnby, along with other wrongdoers, and feloniously broke the gates, doors, windows and (broke into) the house of John Bronewyne of Ellingham, and took goods and chattels they found there, namely horses, cows, oxen, calves, sheep, little sheep and lambs and pans, linen and woolen cloths, brass pots and timber , and other of his goods and chattels worth £100 and feloniously and by theft and took them away and carried them off. | Beccles,Suffolk | Victim | View Incident page |
