Elias Reyner of Strood, king's escheator in the county of Kent handed over the records of his escheatorship and of the hundred of Middleton to Richard Poser of Rochester, and afterwards John Bawdry of Snodland came with others unknown who feloniously seized and burnt them at Rochester on 9th June 1381.
John Baudry of Snodland aided the people in the rising and himself rose, and confessed that against the peace a certain [blank in MS] Clobbe made a fine of half a mark, and John Hales of Malling was a leader of the wrongdoers and rose up against the peace.
