3537John Webbe coerces men into attacking Thomas Haselden and steals his goodsAnd that the said John Webb with other felons on the same day, at the manor of Thomas Haselden in Steeple Morden, threatened various faithful men of life and limb, because they would not aid in the pulling down of the houses and buildings of the said Thomas, and in committing other felonies there, and this of his own free will. And that the same John Webb sold there a bushel of peas belonging to Haselden, for 60 s., and for which he took 12 d. in part payment from Thomas North in the presence of John Martyn of Litlington, and Thomas Birton, and other trustworthy men, who come before the justices, and being sworn and diligently examined upon the charges, witness openly that these things are so. And the said John Webb had been arrested by John Dengayn, soldier, and William de Notton as a suspect. And on this matter the aforesaid John appears and is questioned on the charges, which he denies. Thus by the judgement of the aforesaid justices he is beheaded. And the escheator is ordered to inquire into the lands, tenements, goods and chattels of the aforesaid John and seize them into the hand of the king, and return this clearly and openly.
