| 3247 | Thomas Fletcher threatens William ate Hethe and burns documents of the manor of Bergholt | [The jurors] also say that Thomas Fletcher of Bergholt (beheaded), chief congregator and supporter at the time of the rising feloniously came in a warlike manner to the village of Bergholt, namely on Monday 17th June 1381, to the manor of Bergholt with many others unknown and threatened the life and limb William ate Hethe, bailiff of the said manor, unless he gave up to him all court rolls, rentals and extents and certain other muniments touching the said manor. | 3248 | Thomas Fletcher threatens Roger, parson of Stratford and takes a fine | [The jurors] also say that the same Thomas Fletcher (beheaded), on Sunday 16th June 1381 feloniously and against the dignity of the crown entered the rectory of Stratford and threatened the life and limb of Roger, parson of the church of Stratford, unless he and his associates gave him gold and silver for his expenses, and John atte Broke, chaplain of the said parson, in fear of his life and to be released gave him 26 s. 8 d.
